Speech/Language Pathologists evaluate and treat disorders of speech, language, communication (expressive and receptive), cognition, and swallowing. Our therapy programs are designed to maximize an individuals’ ability to communicate with her family members, caregivers, staff and within his or her community. With the approval of the patient’s physician, patient care plans are developed and implemented. Our team of Speech/Language Pathologists work closely with other allied health professionals such as physical therapists and occupational therapists along with the patient’s family member and/or home staff.
After evaluation to identify specific needs, the Speech/Language Pathologist may provide treatment in the following areas:
- Expressive Communication
- Auditory Comprehension
- Swallowing
- Reading Comprehension
- Speech Intelligibility
- Augmentative/alternate communication systems
